Cholesterol is a waxy element that is made in the body with the aid of the liver but is likewise found in few food ingredients. It plays a significant role in the functioning of various parts of our body, for example, it is one of the main parts which work on the functioning of a cell membrane and helps in regulating various signals in our body.
TYPES OF CHOLESTEROL
LDL (low-density lipoprotein) also known as “bad cholesterol,” because it gets accumulated in the walls of the blood vessels causing blockages. If you are having a high level of LDL, there is a big chance of heart attack. A sudden blood clot formed there is the reason behind heart attack. To check your LDL level, get yourself a simple blood test done. If the LDL level is high, it can be cured with healthy foods.
However, all the cholesterol is not bad. It is a vital fat required by the cells in the body. Some of the cholesterol is taken from foods while some of them are produced by the liver. These are insoluble in blood, so it is carried to its required place by proteins, which is known as lipoproteins.
HDL (high-density lipoprotein) also known as ‘good cholesterol”, it is the intermediate which ships the bloodstreams. It eliminates the bad cholesterol and reduces the risk of heart problems.
CHOLESTEROL AND LIFESTYLE
Lifestyle always plays a vital role in a healthy life and thus it is one of the primary reasons causing Cholesterol. Unhealthy living practices such as unhealthy eating, lazy and stressful lifestyle, smoking, alcohol, and obesity could be some of the main reasons causing this fatal disease.
